Directions to Upper Lansdowne and the Hall
- The hall is located at 1412 Upper Lansdowne Rd, Upper Lansdowne NSW 2430
- A Google map is included below but here are some basic directions to make things as easy as possible.
- Be warned mobile reception can be patchy once off the highway.
From the south e.g. coming from Sydney/Newcastle:
- Take the second Taree (Cundletown) exit off the highway. Follow for approx 3km then turn right at the airport onto Lansdowne Rd
- Follow for approx 10km then turn left onto Upper Lansdowne Rd
- Follow approx 14km to Upper Lansdowne Village
- There is a big “Upper Lansdowne” sign half way there, but you don’t reach the actual village until the road drops to 60kph. Ignore Coxcomb Road just before the village – it’s a dirt road which carries on straight, while the main tar road sweeps to the right and downhill
- The hall is on the right opposite the church
From the north e.g. coming from Coffs Harbour:
- Take the Coopernook exit off the highway.
- There are two Coopernook exits, so if you miss the first one just take the second, bigger exit
- Take Lansdowne Rd. towards Lansdowne village for approx 10km
- At Lansdowne turn right onto Central Lansdowne Rd. Follow it all the way to the T intersection at the end (approx 9.5km). The last 3km of this road is gravel
- At the T intersection turn right onto Upper Lansdowne Rd
- Follow the tar road for approx 3km to Upper Lansdowne Village – ignore Coxcomb road just before the village which is a dirt road which carries on straight, while the main tar road sweeps to the right and downhill
- The hall is on the right opposite the church
- DO NOT come via Comboyne, or listen to Google maps and satnavs, that try to bring you in via the north end of Koppin Yarrat Rd! The road is completely closed due to landslides so you have to access via Coopernook and Lansdowne or from Taree (as per from the South above).
Facilities in Upper Lansdowne
- There are no shops, or pub, so bring whatever you need with you
- There is a post office with limited general store facilities in Lansdowne (14kms) and a general store, pub and service station with fuel in Coopernook (24kms)
- Taree (30kms) has full facilities
Artist Accommodation
- We aim to accommodate artists in a self contained cottage whenever possible.
- For larger parties or when the accommodation is not available, we will put you up in your own room with friendly locals but we may have to spread you over several homes.
Dinner, Breakfast and Dietary Requirements
- We serve dinner at the hall and provide a breakfast pack. Let us know about any special dietary requirements

Visitor Accommodation
- There’s a restored farm cottage called Blue Hills https://www.airbnb.com.
au/rooms/5358053 about 3kms from the hall. They usually have a 2 nights minimum, but if you mention to the host Pam that it’s for a concert, she might waive that - There is a cute cabin about 1.5kms from the hall https://www.airbnb.com.au/rooms/45806729
- The closest motels are in Coopernook to the north (just off the Pacific Highway) and Taree/Cundletown to the south. They are about 25 and 30 mins drive respectively
- There’s also a pub in Coopernook, plus a B&B

- The Dawson River Tourist Park at Cundletown has full touring facilities (02) 6553 9237
- Camping on the grass next to the hall is NOT allowed as it is disruptive for village residents
