MEMORIAL HALL

At the recent general meeting of subscribers, the treasurer’s balance sheet showed that our hall is worth over £900. It is just two years since the first proposal to build the hall and already £430 has been paid off.

The following gentlemen were elected as committee for the ensuing 12 months. Messrs W McLaughlin, Jas. McLaughlin, W Atkins, V Atkins, A J Ritchie, Colin Schubert, A J Minett, H Cicolini and W Fennings.

At a subsequent meeting of the committee Mr W McLaughlin was re-elected president. Mr H Cicolini vice-president, Mr Jas. McLaughlin, secretary and Mr W Fennings, treasurer.

A plain and fancy dress masquerade ball is to be held during August to augment the funds of the institution. Sports will also be held in the afternoon and a juvenile ball on the Saturday night. Prizes will be given for best fancy costumes for lady and gentlemen. Messrs W Atkins, J Hanington, A J Ritchie and W Fennings each donated a special prize for best costume, boy and girl comic costume, waltzing competition and jazz competition.
