Percy Oliver Minett was born on 24 September 1916 at Lansdowne to Arthur John Minett and Edith Jane Gilbert.
Percy served full time in the CMF from 1 October 1941 to 31 July 1942.
Percy then enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on the 1 August 1942 at Upper Lansdowne aged 24 years 11 months. He listed his father Arthur as his next of kin and his occupation as dairy man. He was originally posted to the 2nd Australian Infantry Battalion.
He served a total of 717 days of active service. In April 1944 he was assessed as being required for employment in an essential occupation and was discharged. He was to take up employment as dairy farm hand for his father Arthur J Minett.
He was awarded the War Medal 1939/45 and the Australia Service Medal 1939/45.
At the time of discharge on 28 April 1944, he was posted to 9 Motor Ambulance Convoy.
In 1946 Percy married Lorna Mary Towers at Kingsford. Percy died in 1991 at Taree aged 74 and is buried in the Dawson River Cemetery.
